My Story: The Path That Shaped My Soul

Where I Come From

I grew up in a home where the world was seen through a different lens, one that taught me to question everything and everyone in authority. I earned a Sociology degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, which gave me valuable insights into people and systems.

For years, I worked in healthcare—pharmacy and hospital settings—believing it was my calling. But as my own health struggles deepened and I watched my loved ones suffer, I realized the system wasn’t always helping. It became clear to me that there had to be a better way. This awareness pushed me to seek out alternative healing practices and a more holistic approach to wellness.

Shaped by Hard Times

Life’s been anything but easy. I grew up in a home shadowed by religious abuse and fear, always feeling like I didn’t quite belong. From an early age, I was taught not to trust authority—and that the future was doomed, because we were living in the “end times.” At school and church in the South, I was the quiet kid from the North, singled out and misunderstood. Socially, I felt awkward. In my own body, I felt unsure.

I’ve carried deep losses—my brother to war, my parents’ divorce, and my mom to cancer. I’ve been pushed out of circles, blamed for things that weren’t mine to carry, and have had to walk away from family and people I once loved.

But through all of it, I found my voice. Every painful moment taught me how to stand tall, set clear boundaries, and choose healing. Over time, I began to reframe my story—not as a victim, but as a survivor with wisdom to offer. Tools like astrology and integrative healing helped me reclaim my power and rewrite the meaning of my past.

Sick Origins, Fighting Spirit

When I was a baby, vaccines nearly took me out. I spiked a high fever, had a seizure, and stopped eating or drinking. My parents were desperate, and it was alternative methods that ultimately saved me. But no one ever asked why my body reacted so strongly. That was just the beginning.

As a kid, I was always sick—constant sinus infections, digestive issues, and early reproductive challenges. After becoming sexually active, I developed a painful uterine fibroid. I had only one confirmed pregnancy, and losing it devastated me. That loss sent me digging deeper, trying to understand why my body couldn’t carry a child.

Antibiotics were handed out like candy, further disrupting my immune system and hormones. By my twenties, I had fourteen metal fillings—each one a toxic burden. Removing them eight years later only stirred up more complications.

Urinary tract infections became kidney infections, and eventually turned into interstitial cystitis—a chronic pain that wore me down day after day. Every antibiotic triggered new yeast and fungal infections. I felt like I was being slowly dismantled. The very things meant to help me were breaking me instead—and no one seemed to notice.

The Day I Took Charge

I’ll never forget the moment things shifted. I was standing in a health food store, holding yet another antibiotic prescription for a lingering lung infection. I was tired—tired of the same cycle, knowing the antibiotics were only triggering more gut issues and secondary infections.

A practitioner I trusted looked me in the eyes, then glanced at the prescription in my hand. Holding up a bottle of supplements, she said, “That’s death.” Then, pointing to the supplements, “This is life.”

Her words struck me deeply. It wasn’t just about choosing between two treatments—it was about stepping outside the conventional medical paradigm. It was about believing that my body could heal, that nature held wisdom, and that I had a choice.

That day, I chose life. And I began a whole new path.

Learning to Heal

My constant health struggles became my greatest teachers. I spent years—and a lot of money—trying every kind of healing out there: supplementation, energy work, acupuncture, essential oils, crystals, herbal detoxes, breathwork… you name it. I experimented with the EE System, Block Therapy, ozone therapy, and eventually turned to physical therapy to manage sciatic pain and a spine that had started to curve.

This road was anything but linear. I messed up. I went into debt. I tried to force solutions that didn’t align with my body. It wasn’t until I discovered I carry the MTHFR gene mutation that things started to make sense. This variant makes detoxing more difficult, explaining why certain healing protocols made me feel worse, not better.

Every step—every misstep—taught me how the body really works, and more importantly, how to listen to mine. Healing, I learned, isn’t just about doing more. It’s about doing what’s right for you.

The Loss That Lit a Fire

My mom’s cancer diagnosis made me question everything I thought I knew about healthcare and healing. It was a four-year battle, and I was right there beside her—feeling helpless. Her diagnosis left me completely disempowered, and watching how the American healthcare system handled her care hardened something in me.

I tried to help, but it wasn’t my journey to control. What she needed was care that saw her as a whole person—body, mind, and soul. But that kind of multidimensional care was nowhere to be found. The alternative options available left her scared and hopeless. Out of desperation, halfway through, she turned to chemo and radiation—but they only made things worse. What followed was a cascade of health emergencies, each more urgent and devastating than the last.

As her body declined, so did the way she was treated—like she wasn’t even human. I went toe-to-toe with doctors, fighting to honor her wishes, but the system failed us both. Especially during COVID, we saw just how broken and inhumane that system could be. I didn’t want that for her. I don’t want that for anyone.

Her death wasn’t where my journey began, but it lit a fire in me. A fire to do things differently. To guide others. To teach. To help people find their strength, their voice, and their power—so they never have to feel as helpless as I once did.
